In March 2022 I travelled to Ukraine on commission for Suddeutsche Zeitung Magazine and VQR, (Virginian Quaterly Review) supported by the Pulitzer Centre for Crisis Reporting. 

These drawings are of scenes and situations we thought we had written into the history books.  People living in the metro, trench warfare, sandbags being piled around famous national monuments and young couples kissgin on train platforms as the men go off to fight.
